Internet Marketing Tip: How to Create a LinkedIn Company Page

Most of know to use LinkedIn for professional networking--FOR PEOPLE.

However, most people are employed at different COMPANIES.  Some people are owners of small companies.

How do you create your own Company Page on LinkedIn?

Like most things on the Internet, it's easy...once you know how to do it.

This video, created by Easy Web Tech Team (http://www.EasyWebTech.com.au) is a couple of years old, and is a little outdated, but it does a great job of explaining how to get started, and it is only 4 minutes--actually not even that long.

You can watch the video, or you can follow these instructions.

Go to the Company Section of LinkedIn
1. Go to http://www.LinkedIn.com/Companies

Add a Company Page on LinkedIn
2. Log Into LinkedIn (if you were not already)
3. Click "Add a Company"
4. Enter Company Name
5. Enter Email Address  (NOTE: You cannot use FREE email services, like Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, etc.)

Confirm Email is Not Spam
6. Go to your email account.
7. Open email from LinkedIn.
8. Click Link to Confirm (that you are human and not a Spam robot)

Enter Information about Company: Basic Tab (Info for Required Fields Only)
9. Enter Description (NOTE: LinkedIn Company Description must be a MINIMUM of 250 characters.)
10. Enter Website URL
11. Select Industry from dropdown choice menu
12. Enter Type (Private or Publicly Held Company)
13. Enter Status (Choose "Operational")
14. Enter "# of Employees"
15. Click "Save Changes" Button

That's it.  You can enter all sorts of other information, but this lets you add your company to LinkedIn.

Benefits of Adding a Company LinkedIn Page
  • Your employees can connect to your company.
  • It is another spot for your company on Google and other search engines, like Yahoo and Bing.
  • You can put backlinks to your LinkedIn company page. (if you are into SEO)
  • You can add a video and all sorts of other goodies.
