Review: Workshop Event: Glenda Norris: How to Sell on eBay

Glenda Norris, Powerseller on eBay,  led a workshop at the Atrium Cafe in Livonia, MI this past Saturday (1/21/12).

Glenda is a retiree who supplements her income from selling online.
Glenda Norris led an eBay Workshop on Saturday, January 21, 2012.
In order to become an eBay Powerseller, a person needs to have a combination of enough sales, customer feedback, and other criteria.  In other words, you need to know what you're doing, do it well, and know how to keep your customers happy.

She told us that you do not start with a store, but once you generate enough sales transactions, eBay will contact you and offer to help you set up a store.

Glenda provided the concepts during the morning, and she provided hands-on training with people during the afternoon.

Casper Peek, who has been selling on eBay since 2008, provided attending students with assistance during the workshop.  He asked several questions along the way and demonstrated some of his own "tricks of the trade."

Glenda Norris is sells women's clothing on eBay.  Here she is showing her eye for putting together outfits.
Glenda sells children's and plus-size women's clothing on eBay.  She emphasized how important it is to take good pictures and describe things vividly.  The more detail you use to describe what you're selling, the more likely your garment will appeal to a buyer so that you can sell it.

She emphasized how important it is to understand what your buyers will want, and she suggests to sticking to selling things on eBay that you understand.  It is tough to know whether you would buy them if you would never buy what you sell for yourself.  It is not impossible, but selling becomes a more difficult hurdle.

Students left being having the knowledge to be able to buy things, photograph them well, describe them, ship them, and keep customers happy.  eBay can be a lot of work, but Glenda provided students the directions to building and maintaining their own money-making business.
